Wood bending jig completed

Image
Today I spent the day making this jig and used my band saw for the first time.  Worked great: It's what I'll use to bend wood before installing on the boat.  It has an 8 foot radius which will bend just about any piece I'll need.  I particularly need it for the piece on the transom that I have to recreate. Other thoughts:  I have changed my plans with what wood to use.  I was going to use white oak but I've been unable to find any in the lengths I need.  So the boat was originally built in Mahogany and lasted 50 years so I've decided to do everything in Mahogany.  I ordered some 20 foot and 16 foot boards from a place in White Plains NY.
